Miami Herbert Business School and Deloitte hosted a launch ceremony for the Deloitte Institute for Research and Practice of Analytics (DIRPA). This cross-disciplinary initiative will focus on developing university graduates and knowledge for a world in which analytics and digital innovation are at a premium across all sectors and geographies. The DIRPA program will support five key initiatives: Deloitte Scholars, Capstone Projects, Lecture Series, Mentorship and Recruiting.
The Deloitte Institute for Research & Practice in Analytics (DIRPA) is an initiative funded by Deloitte and designed to bring together students and faculty from the University of Miami in a cross-disciplinary effort to better understand the business and analytic needs, challenges, and opportunities of industry and community organizations across the globe.
INDUSTRY SPEAKER SERIES
The industry speaker series is comprised of visiting industry professionals. Each guest speaker will discuss topics such as the speaker’s organization, department, career, and data science related endeavors. The speaker may advertise internship and job opportunities with their organization.
STUDENT ANALYTICS CLUB
Students convene periodically to discuss timely topics and professional development in the analytics field. Students host professional development and social events with local industry leaders and faculty members. In addition, the club also facilitates a peer-mentorship program for students.
MASTER OF SCIENCE IN BUSINESS ANALYTICS
The Master of Science in Business Analytics program is an intensive experience that develops well-trained business analysts armed with the skills necessary to understand, manage and make use of big data in a business context. Over the course of 10 months, students learn how to turn abstract data into meaningful information with which to predict consumer behavior and forecast revenue and expenses for virtually any business model and any industry sector.
